Documentary on the Rhine water
The German TV programme Quarks addresses the water quality of the Rhine in their episode of 18 June: ‘Der totgeglaubte Fluss: Wie gut ist das Rheinwasser heute?’
50 years ago, thousands of poisoned fish drifted across the Rhine. The Rhine was dead. But even before this massive death, the Rhine was considered the “largest cesspool in Europe”. Today the Rhine is alive again – fortunately. But can poison still end up in the Rhine today? Quarks puts the Rhine to the test.
